Abstracts

Abstract art demands that you know how to draw well, that you have a heightened sensitivity for composition and for colors and be truly poetic. In general abstract painting does not have a recognizable subject. The color, the form, and the composition as a whole, make each abstract painting a unique piece of art.

In my pursuit of abstract painting, I have been constantly experimenting with new methods and media. I found that certain combinations of paints mixed together reveal the most complex and intricate patterns and textures, which would be impossible to paint by hand. The designs thus arising tend to morph in the process of drying. Painting, to me, is a unique experience. Each work is a novelty by itself and has its own personal and intuitive meaning.

Figurative

Figurative art refers to any form of art that clearly represents an image from the real world. Though the term figurative art commonly refers to art that has the human figure or animal figures as its subject, the term can also be used in the more general sense of distinguishing representational art from abstract art

Portraits

Usha excels in painting portraits in oil medium on canvas, using photograph of the individual as replacement for live model.

She prefers to take the photographs herself of the clients for this purpose to get the appropriate lighting that looks good for a painting. She takes several photographs and select the best one from them and recommend it to the client. Ones the client makes his/her choice and decision is made, she paints a small sample study with the colors she will be using on a small sample canvas and presents it to the client for approval. After the approval of the client, the artist starts her actual painting of the portrait.
